Final Report

This is the final version of the Thesis Report. In this report, a composite system with long span trusses and braced frames was chosen as an anlternative design to the Piez Hall extension. The purpose of this proposed design was to achieve the following goals:

  • Reduce structural system cost
  • Reduce construction schedule
  • Reduce construction confusions
  • Increase bay sizes to allow more open interior spaces
  • Reduce building's overall weight and torsion
  • Reduce seismic load
  • Reduce annual energy cost

The outcomes and results of the new re-design were discussed throughout the report
